    When you changed the pressure guage out from LPG to natural gas, did you access the area to unconnect and connect the new gauge from the front upper panel or from the back of the roaster? I have the orifices and gauge in hand and plan to swap them out at some point in the future. At present, I have two 20 lb propane cylinders to use up and that may take a while.

      I didn't measure decibel levels. The goal was to take away some of the metallic clicking sounds typical with the WR. The device you see was my recorder, not a decibel meter. Hope this helps!

      @@MattMolnar10 I purchased a BC-2 the beginning of April and I agree the gauge works great. Thanks for the video. I have natural gas service within 5 feet of where I roast so I may switch over from propane. I'm currently planning my permanent exhaust system.

      @MattMolnar10 2 місяці тому

      @@the_original_mathwiz Congratulations on the roaster! Mine has been working steadily without any issues. The biggest maintenance item is keeping the squirrel cage fins clean. When your MAGRFHELIC gauge doesn't respond as readily to air adjustments as it did, you'll know your fins are clogging up.

    • @the_original_mathwiz
      @the_original_mathwiz 17 днів тому

      @@MattMolnar10 I agree about keeping the fins clean on the exhaust fan. I don't roast the volume you do, so keeping mine clean is a fairly simple task. I purchased a soft bristle tooth brush and heated the handle just behind the head with a butane torch to modify the angle to be more accessible inside the cage. It works very well to brush the particles away quickly and efficiently. Like Randy Harper says, "air flow is the life of the roaster". I finished my Pellet Duravent exhaust setup through the back of my garage wall. It was a very interesting experience to drill a 7-inch hole through a brick wall. Everything came out great and I am now ready to continue roasting when cold weather arrives.

    • @MattMolnar10
      @MattMolnar10 17 днів тому

      Yes, the fins clean off very easily. I can remove the motor from the top and clean the fins and put it back in about 10 minutes.

      @@MattMolnar10, hey Matt, me again. I'm good with the Artisan .aset file as I figured it out. I have been using a 6ft straight pipe to exhaust my BC-2 in my garage, but I am ready to put a hole in the wall to vent properly. I am curious about your exhaust wall setup. Would you mind sharing info on what you have? I cannot find anything that looks like your setup. It appears to function well in your video. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. Mike Mathis

    • @MattMolnar10
      @MattMolnar10 Місяць тому

      @@the_original_mathwiz Hi Mike! I had a friend fabricate the exhaust setup you see with a blast gate. I can close it in the winter when I'm not roasting to prevent subzero air from coming into my roaster/shop. That being said, I don't really close the blast gate much because if you close the air flow dial on the roaster it will limit how far the cold air can infiltrate. If you find someone who installs pellet stoves or similar devices they should be able to setup you up for exhaust.

      Since I got mine the prices went up a bit. I would get on the phone with Nuthouse and have a talk with them about exactly what you're looking for and they will give you a quote. Mine came in close to 30K before adding my own tent, fridge, awning and battery system. It's a lot of money, for sure, but the build quality and materials used must be taken into account. If you compare to Patriot, Turtleback and other similar offerings, you'll find the Peanut is not at all out of line. After our recent 32 day trip logging over 7K miles, we couldn't be happier with its performance.
